Alex Mahadevan

Poynter Institute

Alex Mahadevan is the director of MediaWise and faculty leading AI initiatives at the Poynter Institute, and co-leads the Empowering Diverse Digital Citizens Lab at Stanford University. Through both roles, Mahadevan has trained thousands of citizens and journalists in digital media literacy, fact-checking and debunking, generative AI skills and investigation tools. He co-wrote Poynter's AI ethics guide and organized the inaugural Poynter Summit on AI, Ethics & Journalism.
