In this session, we'll explore how text messaging and other technologies are helping to transform rural journalism, making in-depth local reporting more accessible and relevant to residents of remote areas. This conversation will delve into the challenges of delivering news in rural regions and the innovative solutions being developed by rural-focused newsrooms. Attendees will learn more about the Rural News Network, a project of the Institute for Nonprofit News, and it's “Text RURAL” service, which connects residents to a weekly digest of essential news from more than 80 local newsrooms across the U.S.
